I am a single mom, with three kids. I had a good job for over 5 years but lost it last week due to the economy. The local machine shop where I worked is shutting down and there is nothing else in town. No one is hiring around here. I don't even have health insurance and my baby girl has a fever tonight. I need ideas. I need hope. I need strength.

My mother is having this dilemma too. What I suggest is definitely aim higher. You are apparently getting no where with this dead end job. You need to take risks to improve your situation. No one said it will be easy. You can also get a better degree with ICS or some other online program. With these programs you can get a diploma really quick and they are much much cheaper then attending a university or college. I believe they are $1000-2000? You can look at the website online. The best thing about this is you can stay home and get the diploma. Maybe you need to ask for extra help with the kids from family/ your ex/ bf. If everyone can pitch in a little you'll be back on your feet in no time. Good luck.
